LandOnIt is a small game run by a small team as a hobby. This page says what the site keeps about you, why, and for how long. You can play without an account, and then almost nothing is kept.
If you play without signing in
- In your browser only: the name you typed, your icon, colours, language, sound settings and your past results. They never leave your device and you can clear them in your browser.
- On the server, while you play: the table you sit at (names, moves, chat). A table is kept for at most 6 hours after it was last used, so that a match survives a restart of the server, and is then deleted.
- Your internet address (IP): used for a few minutes, in memory, to limit how many connections and rooms one address can open. It is stored only if someone reports you, or if you are suspended (see below).
If you sign in
Signing in is done by Google, Discord or Facebook. We receive from them, and keep:
- an account number that identifies you with that provider (not your password, not your e-mail address);
- your display name and the address of your profile picture;
- what you earn and choose here: LandOnIt Points, matches played and won, your match history, and your chosen name, icon and colours;
- your friend code, your friends, the friend requests you send and receive, and the players you block. Other players can find you by your friend code or the name you play under, and see only that name, your picture and the code: never your account, your e-mail address or whom you have blocked.
Your name, picture and points are shown to the people you play with, and on the table of the best players. A cookie keeps you signed in; there are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics.
Reports and suspensions
When one player reports another, we keep the reason, the optional note, the room, both names, both account numbers (if signed in), both internet addresses, and the last twenty lines of that table's chat. This is needed to judge the report and to keep people who spoil the game away. Reports are deleted after 90 days. A suspension keeps the account number or internet address it applies to for as long as it lasts.
Who else handles the data
- A hosting provider runs the site for us and sees every request, including your internet address, as any web host does.
- A database provider stores accounts, points, reports and saved tables for us.
- Google, Discord and Facebook, only if you choose to sign in with them.
They only handle the data on our behalf, and some of them are based outside the EU. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else.
Your choices
- Delete everything: on your profile, “Delete my account” removes your points, match history, choices, friends, requests and blocks, and the reports you made, at once.
- See or correct what is kept, or object to it: ask the person who gave you the link to this site.
- If you live in the EU you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The game is not aimed at children under 13, and the sign-in providers have their own minimum ages.
